SCI

So what is SCI? SCI stands for Spinal Cord Injury. When a vertebrae along the spine is broken or injured, it will affect messages being sent from the brain down to the spinal column. This in turn this affects the bodies ability to control bodily functions, motor movements, nerve responses, etc. Doctors do not know how a spinal cord injury will affect the body, they just know that once the spinal cord is compromised from an injury any one of the hundreds of thousands of biological processes that happen on a per second basis can be affected and altered. No two spinal cord injuries are the same. They may have some of the same underlying symptoms that are common with spinal cord injury, but there is no way to tell how, when, or to what they will affect.
