What is an Affiliate Link?
Many, but not all, links on TommyParalyzed.com are affiliate links. This means a tracking code is used when TommyParalyzed.com links to products available on Amazon. This allows me to make a small commission on the sale of an item you purchase through one of those links. The price for the product is the same whether you use an affiliate link or if you buy it directly through an Amazon search. It’s a way to support the work I do on this website in trying to help provide information, the time I put into research, and generally trying to create a place that will help others digest information efficiently and quickly. The amount generally is around $0.20 cents to around $1.35 for a more expensive item. It’s not much, but it helps me maintain this website which is appreciated.
When do I use Affiliate Links?
I use affiliate links when I’m linking to a product that I’m recommending and it happens to also be on Amazon. Amazon is so large these days, it generally has most things I use and recommend. I do link to items on Amazon through sponsorships or because I’m paid to. I link them because I genuinely recommend the product and I personally use the product and have found it helpful in my day to day life and in my recovery from my injury.
Nature of Affiliate Relationships
I recommend a lot of products that I use. When they are available on Amazon, I get the referral code from Amazon and apply it to my outbound link which helps support my website. I do not have any financial interest in the companies of products that I recommend other than affiliate relationships unless otherwise disclosed. For this reason, I cannot ensure that items will be shipped perfectly on time, packaged properly, or that you will like the product. Any issues that arise from the purchase of a product from a link on this website should be taken up directly with the company the item was purchased from.
